Workshop on Swarm Intelligence Big Data Mining and Optimization
Introduction
This workshop explores cutting-edge advancements in swarm intelligence (SI) algorithms and their applications in big data mining and optimization for IoT as a Service (IoTaaS). Focus areas include SI-driven solutions for environmental and hydrological data analysis, traffic data visualization, and novel optimization methods. The event aims to bridge theoretical research with real-world challenges, fostering interdisciplinary discussions among AI researchers, data scientists, and domain experts. Participants will engage through keynote talks, peer-reviewed paper presentations, and interactive sessions to identify emerging trends and collaborative opportunities.
- Deadline for Workshop Papers
- Submission deadline 30 June 2025
- Notification deadline 1 August 2025
Format
Swarm intelligence (SI), as a critical frontier of next-generation AI, has gained traction due to its
scalability and adaptability in handling complex, large-scale datasets, critical for domains like
environmental modeling and smart transportation. It is also revolutionizing IoT-as-a-Service
(IoTaaS) through its decentralized optimization capabilities, enabling dynamic resource allocation,
edge intelligence, and sustainable service orchestration. The synergy between SI algorithms (e.g.,
PSO, ACO) and IoTaaS architectures addresses key challenges in 5G/6G networks, industrial IoT,
and environmental big-data mining, while reducing energy consumption and improving QoS. This
workshop bridges theoretical gaps in SI-driven IoTaaS frameworks and responds to growing
industrial demand, emphasizing actionable insights for environmental and infrastructural
sustainability, aligning with global AI-for-good initiatives.
Topics and scope (but not limit):
SI theories, models, and algorithms
SI for Big data mining in environmental
SI for big data analysis in hydro science
SI Traffic flow optimization and visualization
Hybrid SI-deep learning models
SI applications
The criteria for assessment will include:
– Relevance to conference vision/topics and attendees
– Potential to bring in participants to the conference from different audiences
– Overall quality of contribution
– Provides a hands-on, collaborative, and/or active learning environment for attendees
Workshop publication
The workshop will take approximately 3 hours. No additional equipment or software, except for the standard presentation setup (projector/display, power outlets, internet via WiFi) is provided by the organizers. The participants are encouraged to bring their own laptops or other necessary equipment. Accepted and presented papers will be published alongside the main conference proceedings as a sub section/chapter. Paper formats should, therefore, correspond to the templates of the publisher of the main conference
