International Workshop on Satellite Communications
and Spatial Information Network (SC&SIN 2020)

Scope
With the continuous development of China’s satellite technology, major breakthroughs have been made in satellite communications and spatial information networking. A variety of new systems and methods have emerged and verified.
Space communication technology can realize data communication between satellites or satellites-ground. The spatial information network is a network system that acquires, transmits, and processes spatial information in real time based on a space platform (Such as geostationary satellites, medium / low orbit satellites, stratospheric balloons, manned or unmanned aircraft, etc.). As an extension of the space-based part of the terrestrial network, it will be closely related to the ground Internet, 5G mobile communication systems, and the Internet of Things（IoTs）in the future.
In recent years, academia and industry have proposed space transmission technology using lasers for space satellite communications. This technology has the characteristics of fast transmission speed and large amount of information. At present, it is the best solution to achieve high bit rate interstellar communication.
Topics of Interest
At this workshop, we are particularly interested in new types of satellite communications and spatial information network, such as space laser communications, Space-based Internet of Things (S-IoTs), satellite Internet constellation, including but not limited to the following topics of interest:
- System model and architecture for SIN
- Spatial information transmission theory and technology
- New space communications technology
- 5G enabling S-IoT technology
- Topology control and Routing technology
- Space information distribution
- Multiple access control technology
- QoS guarantee technology
- Space channel model
- Space signal processing technology
- Other related theories and technologies
Submissions
We invite workshop participation through contributions that respond to one or more of the mentioned research questions in form of a full paper (10-20 pages) or a short paper or work in progress paper (6+ pages). Papers should be submitted through EAI ‘Confy+‘ system, and have to comply with the Springer format (see Author’s kit section).
Publication
Accepted and presented technical papers will be submitted for publication by Springer and made available through SpringerLink Digital Library. Workshop Papers will be published as a part of IoTaaS Conference Proceedings book. Proceedings will be submitted for inclusion in leading indexing services, including Ei Compendex, ISI Web of Science, Scopus, CrossRef, Google Scholar, DBLP, as well as EAI’s own EU Digital Library (EUDL).
